Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Money Magnate ("we", "us" or "our") handles your personal information when you use moneymagnate.com.au (the "Service"), and the rights you have over that information. We are based in Victoria, Australia, and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
The short version
- Our calculators are free to use and do not require an account.
- The figures you enter into a calculator are saved in your own browser. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- The only personal information you can give us directly is what you type into the contact form: your name, email address and message.
- We collect anonymised usage and performance statistics to understand how the site is used.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing emails.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you submit. We use this solely to read and respond to your enquiry. The form is protected by anti-spam measures that check the timing and origin of a submission; these do not identify you personally.
Information stored in your browser
Our calculators work entirely inside your browser. Details you enter — such as your income, deductions, superannuation settings and selected financial year — are stored locally on your own device so your figures are still there when you return. This information is not transmitted to our servers, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
We also store two small preferences on your device:
- Theme preference (light or dark mode), kept in local storage.
- Sidebar state (expanded or collapsed), kept in a functional cookie named
sidebar_state.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party marketing trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
Usage and performance data
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages are visited and how quickly they load. These tools collect aggregated, anonymised information — such as page paths, referring sites, approximate country, device and browser type, and page performance timings. They do not use cookies and are not used to identify individual visitors.
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- respond to enquiries you send us through the contact form;
- operate, maintain and secure the Service, including preventing spam and abuse;
- understand which content is useful so we can improve our calculators and guides; and
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not provide financial, tax or legal advice — our calculators are general information tools only.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the Service work, and only to the extent needed:
- Vercel — hosts the website and provides the analytics and performance measurement described above.
- EmailJS — delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
We may also disclose personal information where we are required to do so by law, or where it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Money Magnate, our users or the public.
Overseas Disclosure
Our service providers may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy and with Australian privacy law.
How Long We Keep It
We keep contact form correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep a reasonable record of it, after which it is deleted. Aggregated analytics data contains no personal information and may be retained indefinitely. Information held in your browser stays there until you clear it.
Security
The Service is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you — in practice, this is limited to any contact form correspondence. To make a request, or to complain about how we have handled your information, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Websites
Our pages link to third-party sites, including the Australian Taxation Office. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and take effect once posted. Please review it periodically.
